culture: ethnicity or style?I think that in our modern society, very few cultures are actually associated with ethnicity as they used to be. Now cultures revolve around music, dress, and style. Because of this, I think of myself as not belonging to an 'American' or 'Armenian' culture, but rather to the Hipster/Indie culture.   
 Hipsters are generally pretentious types who listen to music that no one's ever heard of, watch movie's that no one's ever seen, and reads books that no one's ever read. Hipsters are typically associated with their old-school chuck tailors, their too small sweaters, their chunky framed glasses, and their habit of becoming Siamese culture: ethnicity or style?

Eight Little LinesWhen I was a little girl, I wanted to become either a soap opera star or a unicorn when I grew up. After a few years, I realized that becoming a poet was not only more practical, but it was something I would enjoy. At the same time, it occurred to me that being the only unicorn in the world would be lonely, while being a poet would be less lonely, and more worthwhile.  
 
 It was in the second grade when I decided that I wanted to become a poet. We were assigned to write a rhyming poem, so I took it upon myself to write the greatest poem that I could write. I spent hours agonizing over a short poem with a fairly basic rhyme seq Eight Little Lines

ways to raise 12 grand?

here's the deal..

i got accepted into a summer writing program in new york city. however, with room and board, it's 6grand per session..
my parents aren't willing to pay that much..my dad said he'd pay 3 grand MAYBE..but even that's doubtful..

so i need a way to get money..i can't get a job..so that's out of the question..

i'm already going to go to this used bookstore on tuesday and try to sell as many of my books as I can..

anyone have any ideas?

this program is probably the best thing that I can do..and i want it more than anything..

Good. Got diagnosed with Bipolar 2! Eek! I'm on meds, though, so no worries. And I went back to college (I dropped out last year due to a kidney infection and depression) and I'm doing quite well at this new school. Traveling to Arizona for winter break with the new boyfriend. Life is so fantastic. :)

What's new? (Sorry I just had to babble there.)

ooh! meds are good! and college is good too! and arizona sounds fabulous :)) i'm v. happy for you.

i'm doing alright. got a nice boyfriend, school is alright, although college apps are killing me. had a few bad days, but havent for a week or so, so it's good :]

i've become such a music junkie too XD

Oooh? Congrats about the boy. Sorry about college apps; I feel ya. I'm glad I'm all settled in here, though I may end up moving again next year! Ahh! We'll see. Won't know for a while, though.

What are you thinking of going to college for? Also, any good music suggestions? I love music! :)
